Price is the only factor – Do not fall flat for cheap hosting services. Generally, companies offering extremely low cost hosting can not guarantee good features, consistent uptime or excellent services in a written contract agreement.

Incomplete information or poor feedback on Host’s website or forums do not matter – Do not ignore if you notice poor ratings or negative feedback of a host on the forums. Also, incomplete or unclear information on host’s website should be questioned and verified for more details.

Inexperience does not matter – if a host is new in the business and does not have feedback, how can you trust for some advanced features such as server scripts, software patches, security, and monitoring activity? Ask for all these details.

I will keep back up if host does not provide it – Let the host take responsibility of the tasks that are not yours. If your host does not guarantee backup, can you bank on the company for security against hacking, virus etc.?

I do not need contact information of my host – This is a huge mistake not to have host’s contact information. You never know when you may need to call up your host for some concern.
