Is a dedicated web host right for you?
Nowadays webmasters are increasingly looking for dedicated web hosts. The prices for dedicated web hosts are higher than other web hosts. However, if you can afford the higher monthly cost you may want to consider the advantages and disadvantages of using a dedicated web host.
The cost of using a dedicated web host is very expensive. The monthly cost is not the only thing you will be paying for. Quite possibly you will have to pay another person to maintain the web host for you. That will be the case if you go for an un-managed host.
An advantage to using a dedicated web host is that you get a lot of bandwidth. However on average, a website does not use all of its bandwidth. Therefore with a dedicated web host, you will be paying for bandwidth that you will not use. You also most likely will not use all of the extra disk space you will get.
For the average business owner or person, a shared web host works just fine. There is a high cost to dedicated web host, and sure you get more space, but the question is, do you need it? Do you need all the extra things a dedicated web host will give you? If not shared hosting is a better option.
